on't be left behind and miss out on our famous fall action! This is the time of the year when the muddy water from the mountains in San Jose comes down and floats on top of the salt water. This provides a perfect spot for the sardines to hide between the two waters, and this also gives the Tarpon a place to ambush their next tasty meal!
We opened the lodge on August 19th this year with various father/son duos. These father/son duos and trios hold a very special place in my heart, as it was my father who taught me how to fish before I was 5 years old! I have been fishing ever since. I too taught my 3 sons to fish at a very young age. Fishing is a sport that knows no age limit. Whether you are a toddler or a retiree, there is a fishing adventure for you.
This fall we have caught Tarpon, Snook, Snappers, Jack Crevalles, Hammerhead Sharks, Mackerels and even a few Catfish! I have to say, that as an added bonus, the backwater fishing has never been better. We are catching giant Mojarras, Machacas, Tarpon Snook, and Tarpon too!
Bill Child landed a nice 20 pound Snook at the Pacuare River on an orange 14 Mag floating Rapala. It was tasty table fare for all. Bill Buzzard caught a nice Snapper which added to another nice meal. Last night we had fried Shrimp and fresh Snook, a French glazed fresh strawberry pie topped off the meal! Yum!
We will be waiting to show you your next exciting fishing adventure. Whether it is jumping Tarpon, catching big Snook or searching for the crocodiles after supper, Rio Parismina has it all. August 16th marked our 24th year in operation. This November 15, 2014 will make 25 years since I started the project. I am proud to say that we are going strong. We promise you one thing, you will not be disappointed. Rio Parismina Lodge has the best fleet of ocean boats and the most experienced guides in the Caribbean area.
