Rio Parismina Lodge, Costa Rica
.hat a fall season we are having! It is just unbelievable, the amount of bait, Tarpon and frantic action we are having here at the mouth of the Rio Parismina River.
...Our fall season began with our, always faithful, Aggie friends from San Angelo, TX and other great Texas cities. The Stormy Kimrey Group had a really good 3 days of Tarpon action to start off the 2011 fall season. They have all vowed to return! Not to be out done this group was followed by the Ward Michaels Group. Ward,a world-class Snook fisherman, and his friends from Florida and the Texas area were here to test their skills against the famous Tarpon action of Rio Parismina. They had even better fishing with lots of big fish. Several of these "Bad Boy" Tarpon were estimated to go over 150 lbs. The ocean conditions were perfect and the Tarpon didn't disappoint anyone. The majority of our anglers arrived at the end of the day with aching muscles and tales to tell!
...Our next group was from Argentina and they were amazed on how hard these Tarpon fought and how high they could go missile airborne! Enzo Rico, a world class Golden Dorado fisherman and guide, from Concordia Entre Rios, Argentina was overwhelmed with the numbers of Tarpon and the action packed days of fishing he and his friends from Argentina enjoyed.
...Christian Sanchez, whom you all know, from Costa Rica was fighting these acrobatic Tarpon too! One morning, he and Enzo jumped over 18 Tarpon and boated 10 fish.
...Mike Thomas, from the Branson, MO area and lodge owner, Judy Heidt went out to try their luck with the Tarpon action too! Not to be outdone by other anglers, they caught Tarpon until they had to cry "Uncle" and dedicate themselves to taking photos of other anglers. Many Tarpon were over the 100 lb mark and took their toll on our Tarpon anglers.
...Dr Will Wright arrived from the Chicago area with his son, Chris, and friends. The action didn't diminish! Tarpon, Tarpon and yes, more Tarpon!! William Buzard and his guide Poti got into the Tuna and Wahoo and supplied the lodge with Sashimi and grilled Tuna steaks and sauteed Wahoo for dinner! A tasty treat for all! The last afternoon of Dr Wright's trip he jumped 10 Tarpon and boated 8 fish--and he was fishing solo! What a way to end his trip! He hooked and fought one monster Tarpon estimated to be over 200 lbs. As most of us know these giant Tarpon are really tough to land, especially with just 20 lb test mono filament! This monster will live to fight another day. If you are looking for non-stop Tarpon action CALL US TODAY or call your agent. We still have a few limited openings for the fall season!
